Servers: Availability Zone Change from 2019-09-02 21:00 CEST to 2019-09-02 23:00 CEST

On Monday evening, 2019-09-02, we will rename the availability zone from “zrh1” to “rma1”. This only affects the output of the metadata server (http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/placement/availability-zone). Most customers are probably not actively using this value and are therefore completely unaffected.

Users of cloudscale-csi (Kubernetes) might be affected because the CSI driver uses this information. We have however tested the migration in our lab and were not able to notice any issues. etcd does not store the availability zone, and scheduling a PVC or a pod still works. For CSI users, we recommend a restart of the pods at cloudscale.ch.
