Scheduled maintenances
Maintenance Work
We are performing key rotation on our OpenStack control hosts in the RMA (Rümlang) region. This will conclude the parts of the emergency operating system upgrade executed on 2026-09-09 which had to be rolled back due to unforeseen problems. These problems are now prevented by the live migration of all virtual servers carried out in the meantime.
Expected impact
The Cloud Control Panel and API will be unavailable during the upgrade for about 20 minutes.

Maintenance Work
We are performing live migrations of virtual servers on our OpenStack hypervisors in the RMA (Rümlang) region.
Expected impact
All running “Flex” and “Plus” virtual servers will be live-migrated to other hypervisors at least once in this process. During this standard procedure, server performance may be degraded for a few minutes and/or packet loss may occur for a few seconds.

Past Incidents
All running “Flex” and “Plus” servers have been migrated to other hypervisors.
We have checked the various databases for inconsistencies and found none.
Once all running “Flex” and “Plus” virtual servers have been live-migrated to other hypervisors in the scheduled emergency operating system update, we will perform another Ceph key rotation. A separate maintenance announcement will follow later today.
We consider this emergency maintenance window closed.
Update 2026-09-07 - Maintenance Cancelled
Our engineering team is working on developing a different maintenance procedure that prevents the issue as seen last Friday. Therefore, we decided to postpone this emergency maintenance and will announce a new maintenance window once the procedure has passed peer review as per our established change management process.
